Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERNA LORRAINE LOUGH (nee BARNFIELD) With deep sadness the family of Verna Lough announces her sudden passing on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Verna will be remembered and dearly missed by her son Gary (Lisa) Lough and their children Alex, Ashley and Andy; her son Brent Lough; daughter Colleen (Craig) Smith and their children Drake and Angus; and her daughter-in-law Heather and children Robert (Tiffany) Peloski and Laura Peloski. Verna was predeceased by her husband Earl Lough and son Darrell. Verna was born on March 3, 1931. She grew up on the Barnfield family farm in Kenville, Manitoba. In 1953 she married her husband and life partner Earl Lough. Verna's family and friends will warmly remember her as a loving, proud and dedicated mother and grandmother. They will remember her work ethic and loyalty that took her to the bus stop and then to work every day until after her 81st birthday. They will remember her independent spirit and strength; her well focused mind and quick wit; and her love of birds, animals, travel and local Canadian sports, namely hockey and the roaring game of curling (she still threw a mean rock well past her 75th birthday). It was not unusual to find Verna listening to a Jets or Bombers game on the radio while watching curling on TV. Verna's strength of spirit and character resulted in over 55 years of consecutive service as the Bookkeeper and Law Society Accounting Rules Enforcer at the firm of Duboff Edwards Haight Schachter and its predecessors. Verna will be deeply missed by all of those members of her second family. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Verna's name to a charity of one's choice. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715

My sincere condolences to Verna's family. She was a wonderful woman, and I thought the world of her. She was one of the most non-judgmental people I have ever known. I am just pleased she did not have a prolonged, and painful passing. - Posted by: Terri Prosak (Friend) on: May 20, 2012
