SYLVIA OLIVE HAWRYLUK (nee BELINSKI) When you need me first whisper my name in your heart...I will be there I was born on November 18, 1939 and left this world on May 15, 2012. Born on the family farm in Vista, MB, I grew up and moved to Winnipeg where I met and married my husband Edward Steve Hawryluk. We made our home in the community of Charleswood for many years before his unexpected death in 1991. I stayed on in my home surrounded by my friends and neighbours. I loved my work at the Estates Department of National Trust/Scotia Bank and retired 2011. I spent my retirement days relaxing, reading and spending time with my closest family and friends. I was also predeceased by my parents Steffie and Andrew Belinski. I am survived by my sister Shirley Hamilton (Robert), brother Lennard Belinski (Patricia) as well as my nieces Kimberly Stadnyk (Jeffrey) and Pamela Barnesky and nephew Kenneth Belinski (Adrian) and all of their children Connor, Reece, Jonathan, Jo-Anna, Nikolas, Tyler, Sydni and Mackenzie. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. In compliance with my wishes, no services will be held. My family will celebrate my life in a private gathering. Be kinder than necessary for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly leave the rest to God. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass It's about learning to dance in the rain! Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Oh what good times we had when we lived in the same rooming house in Winnipeg. Shirley had that 'spark' and 'smile' that no one forgets. So sorry to hear she is no longer with us but I bet Ed is happy to see her! • So sorry to learn of Sylvia's passing. We lived in the same rooming house around '59 - '60. Although I moved away we kept in contact over the years at Christmas. You will be missed. - Posted by: Lorna Wolk (Friend) on: May 31, 2012

  • I worked with Sylvia at Scotiatrust. She was a gentle soul, fun to be around, and a character. She told stories on here self - one in particular involved Sylvia and another officer smuggling a bottle of good scotch into the Middlechurch Personal Care Home to help a resident client celebrate her 100th birthday. And Sylvia's response to "How ya doing?" - "Pretty good for an old broad!" - Posted by: Wayne Smith (Friend, co-employee) on: May 24, 2012

  • Sorry to hear of Sylvia's passing. We were school chums. R.I.P. Sylvia - Posted by: Betty MacDonald -nee mackedenski (School friend ) on: May 21, 2012
