VALENTINE TUREK October 24, 1926 May 20, 2012 Peacefully, in the early hours of Sunday, May 20, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Valentine passed away at the age of 85 years. Valentine is now lovingly reunited with her husband John, who predeceased her in March 1996, as well as her parents Joseph and Alexandra Konobay, and her dear in-laws Martin and Catherine Turek. Valentine leaves to mourn her passing, her only son Dennis and wife Arlene, as well as her three precious grandchildren, Sherie Lynn, (Jeff), Robert (Melissa), and Michael (Carly), and her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Sadie and Ashlee. Her brother-in-law Walter (Elaine) Turek, for which she always had a special place in her heart, will miss her dearly. Also left to mourn her passing is her niece Christine (Jerry) and their children Kaylee, Tara, and Bobby Maslowsky and her nephew Ron, (Susan) and their children Joey, Danny and Jamie Turek. Valentine was born in Bialystok, Poland and came to Canada after the War, where she met her husband John in Toronto. They married and lived in Winnipeg's north end for all of their lives together. Valentine's most precious times were spent with her entire family at Twin Lakes Beach. Valentine, enjoyed her gardening and her flower beds but most of all she enjoyed having everyone over for celebrations and holidays. Valentine was a life-long parishioner of St. John Cantius Church, and a member of the CWL. She was also a life-long member of the Holy Ghost Fraternal Aid Society and the Canadian Polish Athletic Club. Valentine's wishes were to have a Private Family Celebration of her Life. The family wishes to thank the staff , of Unit 5, at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and particularly Dr. T. Buschell. Dennis would also like to thank Mary, at Arlington House, for all the care she extended to Valentine.
