LARRY JOHN QUICK August 8, 1948 May 22, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Larry at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 63 after a courageous battle with cancer. Larry was predeceased by his wife Dawn Arbeau and father William (Bill) Quick. Larry will be deeply missed by his son Brendin (Kristy) Arbeau, daughter Tammy Place, sister Isabel (Richard), mother Mary Quick, niece Lisa (Kevin), nephew Tyler (Kaylee) and grandchildren Destiny, Tiara, John, and Kiera and best friend Murray Odaisky as well as many other relatives and friends. Larry grew up in the North End; he attended Tec Voc High School. He was currently working at Standard Auto Spring. Larry loved working on cars and helping Brendin with car repairs, he could always figure out what was wrong and fix it. His true passion was music. He loved to tell stories about his earlier days playing in bands around the city. His favorite place to go and listen to bands was at the Spike. In keeping with Larry's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment was held. A celebration of life will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Larry's name may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. I knew Larry when we were kids (16-17), and I used to sing in a band with George Geisel and Brian Szernicki . We used to practise at Georges place in the basement and Larry would come a few times. What a great person and friend he was. I lost track of him till I saw him at the auto spring place . He recognized me right away and we talked some .Great memories. So sad that he has now passed. Condolences to all his friends and family. - Posted by: Dan Coffell (Friend in music) on: Oct 12, 2020

I'm a little late to comment but Larry, Linda and I had some very good times. Music and hot rods. RIP. - Posted by: Al Block (Friend) on: Mar 21, 2020

I will always laugh when I think of the good times (like when I tripped and you caught me or the time I "helped" you put on your coat!) You will be sadly missed, fondly remembered, and never forgotten. - Posted by: Charlene Moore Szyszkowski and Jarret Szyszkowski (Like family in our hearts) on: May 31, 2012

Larry we will miss you more than words can say. My favorite memory will always be you standing in the doorway with your car shifter in your hand (Ray). Missing you a bunch. - Posted by: Ray & Deb Stockwell (Friends) on: May 28, 2012

Rest in Peace Larry. Sending out deepest sympathies to Brendin. I remember Larry putting in new floor boards on his car and all the noise. I was working the 11 to 7 am shift and so slept during the day hours. This was when Larry was pounding on his car. LOL! Good times. ;) - Posted by: Virginia and Kenneth Redmond (Neighbors) on: May 27, 2012
