Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Bill and I always enjoyed visiting with her at either our place or Klaus and Margo's. Niether of us could speak or understand German, but she always managed to get her message across to us. Love you Oma, rest in peace with the Lord. - Posted by: Bill and Doreen (Friends) on: Jun 14, 2012

  • Although I was not gifted enough to speak German, I was blessed by this dear lady's cheerful smile and a hug whenever I had the opportunity to see her at extended family gatherings. Our common interest was meeting interesting people of all cultures. She raised an exceptionally charming and kind hearted son that I've had the pleasure to know for many years. She will be missed by all of her many friends. Love, Janine. - Posted by: Janine Lambert (friend of family) on: Jun 07, 2012

  • Our sincere condolences to your family. Our thoughts are with. - Posted by: Mike Manaigre and Gayleen Haw (Family friends) on: Jun 06, 2012

  • We will miss "Oma" dearly...the twinkle in her eye when we did the sneaky lifesaver handshake, knitting together, her "helping" to roll my wool into small balls, never passing Eastern without saying "Peter works here", checking to make sure the girls were winning at cards. Oma definitely added a sparkle to a day. May the beautiful memories you have of Oma bring comfort and peace. - Posted by: Gisele & Pete (family friends) on: Jun 05, 2012

  • It has been a privilege to spend the last few years giving care to Oma. She was such a positive lady, with a wonderful sense of humor. We shared many ,many happy times together. Oma could bring the best out of people. She will be sadly missed, by myself and my husband Ron. You will be in our hearts always..Oma - Posted by: Ruth (caregiver) on: Jun 02, 2012

  • We didn't know Mrs. Weiner at all, but we know that she was a quality lady by the calibre of her son Richard. Our condolences to the whole family. We continue to think of you often at this time. - Posted by: Bruce & Liane King (Family friends) on: May 30, 2012

  • Mrs. Grete Weiner always seemed to have a smile. Although neither of us spoke German, Mrs. Weiner had a way of welcoming you with her gentle smile and the warmth of her personality. She would pass by a table and just by her look or gesture - let you know that she was interested in who was winning the game or what the discussion was about. She always appeared eager for a new adventure or a restaurant with a hot cup of coffee. Her quiet spirit spoke volumes allowing us to easily see the love she had for her family. She will be missed. - Posted by: Bev (Family friend) on: May 29, 2012

  • Mrs. Grete Weiner was a very pleasant lady. She loved to be around her family, socialize, and included on outings. She really enjoyed life and being around people. It was very special to me to be part of her life on many occasions and although I know no German, she often spoke to me and someone would translate. She also greeted me and told me to have a safe trip home when I left her presence. She will be thought of often. - Posted by: Sharon (Family Friend) on: May 28, 2012
