TOM PAGE March 6, 1931 May 27, 2012 With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Tom, devoted husband of Gisèle of 43 years and their two children Patrick (Nina) and Joële (John), sister Carol (Pat) Crosbie, two grandchildren Melanie and Julien, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Carol Page. He spent his early years in Gimli and went to school in Dnister, then to Winnipeg where he finished high school at St. James Collegiate. He attended the University of Manitoba, receiving his degree in agriculture. For over 25 years he worked as an information writer for Manitoba Hydro. He previously worked for Manitoba Elevators as an agricultural writer, the Winnipeg Tribune and Channel Seven Television as farm broadcast assistant. He established a part-time farming operation in Gimli and remained active on it for all his adult life. He was also involved in the renovation of a pioneer church in the Dnister district. Tom loved to travel, especially to France. He enjoyed speaking French and the French way of life, taking lessons at Alliance Française. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2 at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road, with a musical prelude at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation (for Heart Research), D1003-409 Taché Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6 (phone 237-2068).
