AGATHA ELIAS After 95 years of sharing her love, humour and zest for life with everyone she met, Agatha Elias (nee Hamm) passed away at the Victoria General Hospital, on May 30, 2012. She now rejoins Henry Elias, her beloved Husband of 60 years. Left to cherish all the happy memories are her children, Jack (Elizabeth) Elias, Shirley (Moe) Gerus, Dennis Elias; grandchildren, Kim Myers, Rhonda (Rich) Cenerini, Jennifer Elias; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Terri-Lynn Giszas, Read Graham-Elias and Faith Douglas, Kiran Maya Elias; Collin and Alec Cenerini and many loving relatives and friends. She was born March 23, 1917 in Hochstadt, Manitoba, daughter of the late Jacob and Agatha (nee Braun) Hamm. She moved to Winnipeg 22 years later where she became engaged to Henry and on July 21, 1940 they were united in marriage in Niverville, Manitoba. They shared most of their years together in Winnipeg where she became a stay at home mom raising their three children and at the same time for many years assisted with the family carpentry business working along side her husband. Later when the home business developed into a home construction business, she acquired her realtor's license and handled the buying and selling of properties. When Henry became superintendent for Ladco Homes, she continued looking after the home front until retirement in 1978. Besides her love of her family, her great pleasure came in the form of the wonderful woodworking that she and her husband created. Our homes are adorned by the many beautiful hand made keepsakes. She was a kind and loving person and always loved to be with family and friends. The family would like to express sincere gratitude towards Dr. F. Salem and the kind staff of the Victoria Hospital fourth floor north who provided care for her over the past two months. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. The funeral service will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012.
