ALAIN MAJEAU 1940 - 2012 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on Friday, June 1, 2012. Alain was predeceased by his parents Louis-Philippe and Jeanette Majeau, and his infant grandson Nolan Mills. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 42 years, Adeline, daughter Chantal (Brad) Mills, son Joël (Debbie) Majeau, grandchildren Kienna, Nial, Briar Mills, Ashtyn Majeau and his brother Jean -Marc (Delores) Majeau. Alain was born in Beaupré, Québec. He completed his schooling in Quebec before moving to Pine Falls, Manitoba, in 1968. He was employed at the Abitibi Price/Pine Falls Paper Company as an instrument mechanic and later as the Safety and Training Officer. He retired in 1997, after 31 and a half years of dedicated service to paper industry. Alain served as union president and on many local committees: including ambulance, water search and rescue to name a few. His boisterous personality was hard to miss. Alain lived life his way and never apologized for it. He was the life of the party and always had a story to tell. He talked to everyone whether they listened or not. His enthusiasm was contagious. He enjoyed his retirement golfing and puttering around the house and yard; it didn't matter if it was his, his kids, or his brother's. He was his grandchildren's loudest and proudest fan unless his Habs were playing! Alain loved golfing and socializing and he went out swinging! Alain's Memorial Service with be celebrated on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Notre Dame Du Laus Parish, Powerview, Manitoba. A private family viewing will be held prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, if desired please donate to a charity of your choice. SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM, Beausejour 268-3510 or MB Toll Free 1-877-776-2220 www.soberingfuneralchapel.com

Adeline and family - what a shock to hear of Al's passing. We always enjoyed his company when we golfed with him, and even off the course. He had a contagious personality. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. - Posted by: Gil & Julie Jeannotte () on: Jun 07, 2012

Hey Aunty Adeline, Chantal, Brad, Joël and Debbie, kids. Praying for you and thinking of you. I remember the wild rice, too. The Christmas package would come and my Mom would laugh because all Dean and I cared about was if there was wild rice. We'd dig through everything, looking for that rice. We'll miss you Uncle Al. Now you're playing a golf game that will never have to end due to poor weather. - Posted by: Dana (Niece) on: Jun 05, 2012

We had the same home town in Quebec and every time I was in Manitoba, I visited Alain and Adeline in Pine Falls. We talked about Beaupré and our common friends. You just couldn't find a better guy. Every time he visited Quebec he brought bags of wild rice. He told me "In Quebec you have maple syrup, but us in Manitoba, we have wild rice." He was a good friend. I will miss him.
