ANGELA (KENDALL) KANDEL (WOLK) It is with much sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on June 4, 2012 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital with her family at her side. Born in Big River, Saskatchewan on March 13, 1918, Angela grew up in The Pas where she met the love of her life, Ivan. They were married on September 1, 1938, and lived happily in West Kildonan raising three children. They were inseparable until his death in 2006. She was predeceased by her two brothers, two sisters and one nephew. Left to cherish her memory are son Noel (Jacqueline), Nicole, Jason (Leanna), great-grandchildren Ulla and Oliver; daughter Lesley (Bill Curtis), Michael, Kevin (Becca); and daughter Karen (Bill George); Derek (Hollie) and Andrew (Ashley). She was a woman of strong faith, a lifelong member of St. Anthony's of Padua Roman Catholic Church and the CWL. Mom will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother, wonderful cook and homemaker whose greatest joy was her family. Everyone who met her commented on what a kind and sweet person she was. Mom's last place of residence was St. Benedicts Place, where she enjoyed the kindness and friendship of the staff and residents. The family is grateful to the Sisters, and for the peaceful home she found in her last months. The family wishes to thank the staff at 5U4 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion Mom received. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations may be made to St. Benedicts Place, 225 Masters Avenue, Winnipeg, MB or charity of your choice in Angela's name.
