I first came to Canada in 1982 to see my family I had never met, and that's when I met Doug and Pat in fact I stayed with them, and what a wonderful couple they were made me feel so at home with them we had lots of fun together. Doug was a funny and wonderful guy. God Bless you Doug for all the love you gave your family, and of course to me. - Posted by: Sylvia Meredith (Cousin in law Wales U K) on: Sep 17, 2012

Doug came into my life many years ago when he was courting my sister, Pat. I was the dreaded "Kid Brother" who (on many occassions I,m sure) Doug wished would disappear. I sorta thought Doug was a neat guy. Well groomed, snappy dresser,(always had the shiniest shoes) and very popular. I probably didn't realize it at the time, but I was watching the development of a lifetime role model. Doug helped me out a lot. Covered up for me when I stayed out past my curfew, gave me lots of advice about things, and even got me a job. Doug was a constant friend, had a great ability to connect naturally with people, was always ready to lend a hand, and had a great sense of humor. I enjoyed Doug. I will miss him a lot. He leaves behind a great legacy. God Speed, old friend. Ben Lowery - Posted by: Ben Lowery (Brother in Law) on: Jun 11, 2012
