• I'm shocked and saddened at her passing. She was my music teacher at Stanley Knowles and opened my eyes to the beautiful world of music. I came across an old photo from a choir trip to Brandon and googled her name in hopes that I could contact her and thank her for introducing me to my saviour, music... • I first met Frances in 1970, when she became my voice teacher. Her children were just little wee kids. They were so cute! I also remember her two little dogs! When I used to go to my voice lessons in Windsor Park, Frances was much more than my voice teacher. She was my friend and confidant. She was like my big sister and so very kind to a young teenager. When it came time for my wedding, there was no one other than Frances that I could possibly have sing! Her voice was the most beautiful! Through the years, we became colleagues and I watched with great interest as her family grew. I was shocked to learn, just today, that she had passed away. Frances blessed everyone she came in contact with and will be fondly remembered by many many people. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you children and grandchildren. • Many people know my mom as a teacher and choral director but they should also know what a terrific Mom she was. My Mom has been my confidant and best friend all my life. She could always tell when something was wrong and I didn't even have to say anything. She knew me so very well. I will miss our daily/weekly phone calls so very much. No matter how far away we lived from each other she was always there when I needed her. I love my Mom with all my heart and soul. She was always putting her children first. Even though she was ill she insisted that she come to visit us in BC. in January. She would not take no for an answer. We had a great time just sitting and talking and hugging. She celebrated her un-birthday (a family tradition) with us and had a Kathleen made birthday cake as she requested. Even though she was always so very tired, still made her famous meatloaf. R.J. says no one can beat the way Grammy makes it. We were even able to make it around the entire IKEA. (Her favorite store) She loved going there. She was always putting her children first even when she was ill. She keep the seriousness of her illness from me so that my Husband and I could have a wonderful 25th anniversary in Europe. I knew something was wrong but she insisted that she was fine. She thought that it was more important for us to have that special time than let us know how serious her illness had progressed. She waited for all her children to be with her before she left this world. Who can ask for a better mom than that. She will be missed for her love, laughter and her beautiful hugs. She was so proud of us all and we were so very proud of her. She is the bravest person I know. Thank you mom for everything. Thank you for loving us. Don't worry about us. Lito will look after us. You know he will. Thank you for loving him. You never treated him as a son-in-law but as your son. He will always keep that close to his heart. Kathleen and R.J. will miss their talks and hugs from their Grammy. Mom you are the best. Thank you. The world has lost not only a wonderful musician as most know her but we have lost the most amazing mother. She looked after us all until her very last breath. I don't know what I'm going to do without you. Their is a new voice in heaven's choir. If you close your eyes and listen you can hear my mom singing. A voice that will never be forgotten. • I met Mrs Seaton thru the Winnipeg Girls' Choir. She was always encouraging us to do our best and to put our all into the music. She often had a story to get us into the right mindset to perform at our best. She was a wonderful mentor to have. • I met Frances and got to know her at our monthly music itinerant meetings and the MMMEA. She was so warm and friendly and always had a smile on her face. We really got to know and support each other while teaching at Stanley Knowles School. It was a challenging time for both of us in this newly opened overcrowded school but we worked hard to provide an excellent music program. Frances and I decided in our first year together as colleagues to take a Christmas vacation to Accapulco. We had a great time together and enjoyed our holiday. I admired her beautiful voice, her enthusiasm for music and her love of music as she touched so many lives. I am saddened to hear of her passing and extend my sincere condolences to her family. • Francis was a real contributor to the music life in Winnipeg. I had the good fortune to meet her and date her in the 60's when we both participated in the Manitoba Music Festival. • Mrs Seaton was an amazing lady as a teacher, mentor and for me a second Mother growing up with her daughter Catherine. She was so full of life and had the best laugh and smile! I still have great memories of music class at Robertson and working with her in the Winnipeg Girls Choir As well as countless sleep overs! I think the greatest gift she gave me was the love of music and the gift of song at my Wedding, it made the day that much more special. It was a privilege and an honor to have known her for so many years. Huge hugs to her family, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time!
