ANNA LOEWEN 1924 - 2012 Peacefully on June 13, 2012 Mom passed away, with family at her side, at the Menno Home for the Age in Grunthal, MB. Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her six children: sons Ben (Mary), John (Irene), Herman (Trudy), daughters Ann, Dora (Jake), and Susan (Randy); stepson Aron (Elfrieda) and stepdaughter-in-law Monica, along with 29 grandchildren and 85 great-grandchildren as well as a brother George, sisters Margaret, Mary and Helen. She was predeceased by her first husband Bernard Unrau and second husband Peter Loewen, a baby (Wilhelm) at birth, son-in-law (Frank Peters), two daughters-in-law (Sharon Unrau) and (Lia Unrau) and recently a stepson (Frank Loewen). Mom was born on February 11, 1924 to parents Johann and Margaret Nickel in a farmhouse, in Lowe Farm, MB. She grew up in Roseau River, MB and it was where she met our Dad and married in the fall of 1942. The last residence was in Grunthal at the time of Dad's passing after 32 years of marriage. It was later that Mom was fortunate to find love again and she married her second husband Peter. But after a short nine years of marriage, Mom found herself widowed again. Throughout her life Mom was a loving, caring, giving person who was always concerned for others. Mom enjoyed sewing, and loved gardening but her biggest passion was her family, dedication to her church and her faith in God. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff of the Grunthal Menno Home for the exceptional care Mom received the past year. Mom had only praise for the people caring for her. Viewing will be at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Sunday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. A celebration of Mom's life will be held Monday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Church on Hwy. 216. Interment at the church cemetery. Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030
