JIM HUMPHREYS It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dearly loved husband, father and grandfather Jim Humphreys on June 16, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverley (nee Partrick); his son Bruce (Andrea) and grandsons Scott and Ian (Taryne); his daughter Lori Lupyrypa (Bert) and granddaughter Nicky (Scott); brothers Bill and Herb; sisters Pat and June, and many nieces and nephews. Jim was born in Winnipeg on July 27, 1933 and grew up in the Brooklands - Weston area. Starting at an early age he developed a passion for hockey which lasted until he retired from the Old Timers League . Jim started his sheet metal apprenticeship in 1952 and received his journeyman's papers in 1958. He worked on many of the larger buildings in downtown Winnipeg and retired from Balcaen Plumbing and Heating in 1996. In his spare time he spent many happy years at his cottage in Gimli with family and friends. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. We will miss you forever, Rest in Peace dear Jimmy. Many thanks to the wonderful staff on the 5th floor Cardiology at St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made either to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the St. Boniface Hospital. Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on the snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry: I am not there, I did not die. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 www.gleneden-mb.ca
