JACOB WALLMAN Jacob Wallman was born April 4, 1926 on the family farm in Brunkild, Manitoba. He attended public school until grade 11, and then spent one winter at Elim Bible School in Altona. On June 9, 1946 he was baptized upon confession of faith, by Reverend Wilhelm Enns. He married Frieda Rempel on August 12, 1950 where they lived for several years near Brunkild. They eventually moved to Morris where he worked in the plumbing and heating business. Dad got another work opportunity with Barkman Plumbing Heating in Steinbach where they moved in 1969. After retirement 21 years ago, Dad followed his love of sports and joined the Eastman Seniors slow pitch baseball team, which he enjoyed very much. He played volleyball at church every Monday evening for many years. Among many hobbies and interests was his love of engines of all sizes. Dad never wanted to sit around after his retirement and actively worked at the MCC Thrift Store for many years, once again following his love for repairing things and being with people. His health began to fail and forced him to spend less and less time there, until October 2009 when he was admitted to hospital and never returned home again. He spent the last three and half years at Bethesda Place in Steinbach, where he became part of the personal care home family'. He received passionate care there, and the family has greatly appreciated every kindness showed to him. Dad passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Bethesda Place Personal Care Home in Steinbach. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Frieda, children Eldon and daughter-in-law Wendy and daughter June. He was predeceased by one daughter, Darlene, in infancy. Funeral service will held Monday, June 25 at 11:00 a.m., at the Steinbach Mennonite Church, 345 Loewen Blvd. Interment at Heritage Cemetery. Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030
