SUSAN (SUE) MARGARET WIGHT (STANGL) June 29, 1934 June 24, 2012 Mom passed away shortly after 3:00 a.m. Sunday, June 24 at the Boundary Trails Hospital, with family at her side. Mom battled with her health the past few months and had her colon removed May 13, only to have complications arise after as well as the confirmation of cancer just recently. She is now at peace with family in Heaven, and we're certain was greeted lovingly by our Dad who she missed so much. Mom was predeceased by her Father and Mother, Edmund and Frances Stangl, an infant brother Donald, brother Edmund (Sonny), brothers-in-law, Andy Gaskin, Bob Nolan and Steve Tkachyk. She is survived by sisters, Mary Lou Gaskin, Beulah Morison (Clifford), Shirley Nolan, Pat Tkachyk, Therese Reinsch (Ed), Geraldine Gomola (Rich), Barbara Alarie (Rene), brother Greg Stangl (Marilyn Sisson), and sister-in-law, Marion Miller (Jim). One of Mom's main concerns was leaving her children and grandchildren behind because she wanted to see what was going to happen with all of us. Now Mom and Dad can be together in Heaven watching and guiding from above - Jack (Gale), Glen (Gisele), Russell (Frieda), Susan Becker (Brad), Bruce, and Linda Percy (Don); grandchildren Mitchell (Sonya), Travis (Alicia), Amanda (Jason), Melissa (Ray and daughter Breanne), Naomi (Ian and daughters Tasha and Ava), Nicholas, Aaron, Brandon, Lauren, Ashley, Raymond, Cailin, and Madelaine. There are many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention as well as cousins and friends who all played an important part in Mom's life. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors who looked after Mom over the years and to the Boyne Lodge Staff in Carman for the care they provided while she lived there. A sincere thank you to Dr. Juliette Tohme from the Morden Agassiz Medical Clinic who always took special care of Mom in the hospital and at her clinic visits and ensured that Mom's final days were spent at Boundary Trails where Dr. Tohme was a large part of Mom's care. We would also like to thank Pastor Ron Vert, who was a good friend to Mom and Dad for all the care and support he has provided to us and Mom these last days. Mom had many health problems over the years, beginning with a brain tumor 45 years ago, then developing Colitis 30 years ago, and in the past 10 years, Osteoporosis set in. Regardless of her health, she had many successes besides raising six kids she always had large gardens, would go on sprees with hobbies ceramics for years, buying two different sewing machines so she could sew quilted activity books for her grandchildren, knitting sweaters and jackets, and her most notable business "Sue's Pantry" where she travelled to craft shows and stores with her jams, jellies, chutneys, peanut brittle and Christmas cakes. She printed her first edition of a cookbook in 1998 and had her sights set on producing the second volume which never came to be. Besides her hobbies, she went to every sporting event her kids participated in and developed lifelong friendships with those kids who to this day call her "Mrs. Wight". She travelled to all the Nomad Dances with Dad, and if Dad wasn't playing in the band, they were dancing together, which is where we know they are now. We will love you forever and will miss you always till we see you again in heaven. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Starbuck Trinity Lutheran Church in Starbuck, Manitoba. Mom's wishes were to be cremated, her ashes joined with Dad's and a graveside service with family will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, the Colitis & Crohn's Society or a charity of your choice. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE (204) 949-2200 www.nbardal.mb.ca
