ALFRED JOSEPH PRYSTIE It is with great sadness and disappointment that we announce the passing of our dear father. After a lengthy battle with Emphysema, Dad passed away at The Health Sciences Centre on the morning of Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the age of 48 years. Dad was born in Kenora, Ontario on June 22, 1964 to his surviving parents Harold and Linnea Prystie, and older siblings Linda and Clifford (Cathy). Dad is survived by his two sons Justin and Jacob, two daughters Jemini (Matthew) and Jayda (Zane) and cat Little-One. As well as nephews Nash, Wade, and Kyle, nieces Krista and Marissa, and many beloved cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Dad grew up in Fort Frances and Sioux Lookout, Ontario where he was raised to be a hard worker. His family and friends could always count on his willingness to lend a hand whenever they needed him. In 1981 Dad moved to Winnipeg where he graduated from high school and started a family. Dad began his career trek by following in the footsteps of his father and brother. He worked for the Canadian National Railway until he decided on a change in profession and enrolled himself in Red River College, where he became a certified Plumber. Throughout his lifetime Dad had a wide array of passions, some of which included camping, fishing, target practice, and working on his eclectic firearm collection and our coin collection that we shared with him. Dad was a nature enthusiast. Our fondest memories of him will always include the times we spent with him at our grandparents' cabin near Kenora, Ontario. Dad, we are so fortunate to have had you as a father. Although we find our time with you was short and sweet, we will cherish in our hearts every memory, photograph, and reminder of what a wonderful father you were and how you spent every second of your life putting us before yourself. We promise to take care of each other knowing full well that you are watching over us; we will make you proud. We love you so much Dad. Turtles! Cremation has taken place, a service and interment will be held at a later date. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715

  • I'll never forget how Fred made me laugh and make my day at work while he was in Concordia Hospital. As ill as he was at times he always held his sense of humor which simply amazed me. I was often his HCA during some of his stays. I have known Fred for nearly 14 years and he never had a bad thing to say about anyone. I will miss my plumber for sure. My sincere sympathy goes out to all of Fred's family at this time. - Posted by: Bev F (Friend) on: Jul 03, 2012
