Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM ARTHUR BRAD, D.C. Bill passed away peacefully in Carman Memorial Hospital June 25, 2012 in his 82nd year. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Gladys, three sons Jim (Susan), grand-children Cory and Tessa, Ontario, Ken (Kathy), Florida and Bill (Brenda) and Braiden, Alberta, brothers-in-law Ray, Frank and Fred (Rita), sisters-in-law Margaret, Violet, Ida (Ernie) Theresa, Agnes and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Violet and Clarence Brad, his sisters Leona and Marie, nephew David, his first wife Lois, brothers-in-law Don, Harold, Bob, Bill and a sister-in-law Marie. Bill was born and raised in Winnipeg. He graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Toronto in the Class of 1951. He practiced for a few years with McPhail Chiropractic Clinic, Winnipeg and spent the rest of his professional life in Flin Flon, Manitoba before retiring to Carman, MB. He received a Builders Award from the Manitoba Chiropractors Association. He enjoyed flying, along with summer and winter sports, with a few winters in Arizona during his retirement. Cremation has taken place with a private family ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association. Though it's been 20 years since Dad practiced it's nice to hear comments about what he meant to some of those who knew and remember him. I have vivid recollections of Wednesdays and Saturdays when, for many years, he would travel to Snow Lake and The Pas to see patients in those communities. We (his sons) would pump the floats of the Cessna (in the summer!) and push him off at the dock at the lake. If we were lucky we got to fly with him on some of those trips to Snow Lake. On other days we would watch and wait for the sound of the engine as he 'buzzed' the cabin on his return that night. He was a pioneer in so many ways, a great chiropractor and knew how to live life and 'fly by the seat of his pants.' - Posted by: Jim Brad D.C. ( ) on: Jul 05, 2012

For most of his career, Bill was the most northerly practicing chiropractor in Manitoba, faithfully serving the citizens of Flin Flon for more than 30 years. As one of the many chiropractors who have followed Bill's lead to the north, and continue to practice here, I continue to occasionally be held accountable by patients to provide care and treatment "the way Dr. Brad used to treat me"! Our profession has lost another one of our pioneers. Although I was saddened to read of Bill's recent passing, I take heart in knowing that he enjoyed so many years of retirement.
