MARY ELIZABETH REGISTER It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary on June 23, 2012, at home with her family at her side. Besides her husband Cecil she is survived by daughters Shirley (Robert) of Warren, MB and Phyllis (Stuart) of Pender Harbour, B.C.; grandson Ryan and great-granddaughter Kaylee. She also leaves her sisters Doreen, and Bernice; brothers Ron and Gary. Mary was predeceased by her son James, grandson Christopher and brother Dave as well as her mother and father Julia and William Korchynski. Mary was born at Elfros, SK, August 14, 1935, and at an early age moved to Winnipeg with her family where she met and married her husband Cecil. There were many moves to follow for Mary and her family with a move to Saskatoon, SK, in 1958, then back to Winnipeg in 1964. Subsequently moving to Vancouver in 1973 for eight years before returning to Winnipeg in 1981 to take up residence in Charleswood, where she lived and worked at Mcleods and McKights Pharmacy for many years. Mary was a dedicated volunteer for several charities in the Charleswood community for over 20 years. Mary was blessed with a happy disposition and enjoyed all that life had to offer and will be remembered by many for her friendly smile and cheerful attitude. She enjoyed bowling with her friends as well as golfing with Cecil and the many walks they would share. Mary enjoyed the pleasure of her flower garden. She also enjoyed her numerous vacations to Hawaii with family and friends. Mary will be remembered by all who knew her for her zest for life and her love of family and friends. The family would like to thank the Manitoba Palliative Care Nurses and Support Staff, the Grace Hospital Oncology Nurses, Dr. P. Harris and staff and the Manitoba Health Home Care personnel, all of who provided care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Mary's life will be held on Wednesday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg. If friends so desire donations may be made in Mary's memory to Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice. Flowers are gratefully declined. You left this life with courage, dignity and love. You will forever be in our hearts. 586-8044

For the past 15 years Mary has canvassed more than 100 homes in her area during the month of April. She was committed to the cause and will be missed.
