Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEATRICE M. GREEN R.N. Peacefully on Saturday, June 23, 2012, Beatrice passed away at Health Sciences Centre at age 85. Beatrice leaves behind two sisters, Sister Evelyn Green (Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions) and Edna Yansa of Kamloops, B.C., sister-in-law Jean Green, nephews David (Marian) Green, Mark (Heather) Green, Matthew Green, Desmond Sweeney and Danny Sweeney, nieces Jenna Sweeney, Monica (Del) Hennessy, Catherine Yansa, Sandra Yansa and Michaela Sweeney, and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Harold and Edna Green, brother Stanley Green and sister Phyllis (Sister Mary Charles) Green. Beatrice graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1944. She entered nursing at Misericordia Hospital that same year and graduated in the spring of 1948, as an R.N. She nursed at Misericordia until 1964, when she took time off to look after our ailing parents. Because of Beatrice's own health problems she started volunteer work at Misericordia Hospital which she enjoyed for many years. Beatrice spent many hours knitting scarves, hats and slippers for the Cheer Board which was much appreciated. When her health issues required assistance in 2001, Beatrice took up residence at Fred Douglas Lodge. The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to the staff and nurses of Fred Douglas Lodge for the care and compassion to Beatrice. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary's Academy or Misericordia Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Winnipeg, MB. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715
