MIECZYSLAW STANCZAK In loving memory of Mieczyslaw Stanczak who passed away suddenly on July 3, 2012 at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn his passing brother Tadeusz and wife Barbara, niece Jadwiga and husband Terry and daughter Kristen Kozlyk, nephew Mark and wife Karen and sons Brent and Scott Stanczak. He was predeceased by wife Zofia Stanczak in June 1996. Mieczyslaw, with his wife, immigrated to Canada in 1958 to join his mother Apolonia Stanczak. He worked at C.N.R. until his retirement. Mieczyslaw and his wife had a very active social life and over the years enjoyed many winter vacations to Mexico, Cuba and Jamaica. He was an avid gardener and took great pride in growing and nurturing his tomato crop. He carried out friendly competitions with friends for the earliest and largest tomatoes, which he won the majority of time. The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre GA-2 and GA-4 for the care they provided during his illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
