Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Mrs. Campbell was my grades 1 & 2 teacher. She made school exciting and fun.In adult hood we always spoke when we met. She was a great Lady. - Posted by: Donnie Rybachuk (Student & Friend) on: Jul 12, 2012

  • My younger brother texted me with the news that Kay Campbell passed away earlier this week at the age of 95. She taught my two older brothers, myself and two younger brothers. That alone accounted for a good portion of her teaching career with us all being separated by a few years. After she took on a museum project in Teulon. For a small town, their museum is incredible. Many original buildings were moved there - Dr Goodwin's house, Marko's shoe repair, the Greek Orthodox Church, school portable and old barn. The buildings were filled with furniture, equipment, tools, housewares and clothes, desks and yearbooks. Even the massive diaramas filled with stuffed wildlife from the 3 storey limestone school demolished shortly after I started school were there. What a tour. When I asked who was responsible for the collections, I was told Kay Campbell. I went to visit her. When she answered the door, I introduced myself, adding I had been raised by Leonard and Annie Childerhose. She said, "Gail Cyr, of course I remember you, and often wondered where you were and how you were doing!" We had a very nice visit, talking of my life and her success as a museum head. She lived an amazing life. - Posted by: Gail Cyr (Student) on: Jul 12, 2012
