Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRALPH CHILDERHOSE Ralph Childerhose, late of Lions Manor, Winnipeg, passed away at Grace Hospital on April 5, 2012. Ralph was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Maude Childerhose and is survived by a number of cousins in Canada and the United States. Ralph is remembered especially by his cousin Roberta Bolton of Boise, Idaho. Ralph was born in Rosser, Manitoba on March 15, 1930 and later moved to Winnipeg where he lived with his parents on Downing Street. He was particularly fond of his school days at Gordon Bell High School and was a dedicated member of St. Matthews Anglican Church and later a long time member of St. James Anglican Church. Ralph was exceptionally devoted and helpful with contributions to St. James Anglican Heritage Church and Cemetery. Ralph worked in the Accounting Department of Trans Canada Airlines and then in Parking Services at Medical Arts Building from 1984 to his retirement in 2006. A dedicated person in everything he undertook or had an interest in, he was known to return to the Medical Arts Building, after his retirement, to do odd jobs. Ralph is kindly remembered by his many coffee and lunch friends and particularly by the staff at Medical Arts and those at the Paddlewheel Restaurant in The Bay Downtown which was one of his favourite mealtime destinations. His special and extraordinary relationship with his Church family will always be remembered. A memorial service will be held for our dear and kind friend Ralph in St. James Anglican Heritage Church on Tylehurst Street, on the south side of Portage Avenue opposite Polo Park, on Sunday, July 15 at 2:00 p.m.. We look forward to meeting his family and wide circle of friends at the memorial service. I just want to say my deepest sympathy to Ralph's family and friends. It was such a pleasure to park in medical arts bldg knowing that Ralph was attending the parking duties. He was such a wonderful human being. Always pleasant and a kind comment he would give you. So rest in peace now Ralph for you will be missed at medical arts bldg. Mr. Childerhouse was the parking lot attendant at the medical clinic where I took my son. He was a kind caring person. When my son was quite sick and I took him to the clinic often, Mr. Childerhouse always said something positive, supportive, or encouraging. When he was not the attendant on duty, my son and I were always disappointed. One day I asked him his name and told him I wanted to write a letter to his boss about his kindness. He blushed and with encouragement gave me his name. I did write the letter. The next time I saw Mr. Childerhouse, he told me his boss shared the letter with him and he thanked me. He was surprised that I would do that. My son is now twenty and over the years has mentioned the kind man at the parking garage. I'm very sorry to hear of Ralph's passing. I spent many hours talking to Ralph, while I was between my shifts at work. He always talked of Mom & Dad & shared many stories of his memories with them. I will always cherish the time I spent with him. I have missed our time feeding the Birds in the corner by Graham. He taught me to be a better person with his kind & gentle way. God Speed Ralph. I'm sorry to hear of ralphs passing. This was a man who could make your day better with just a hello and your life better because you know him. He was a very kind man. One christmas he gave me a bottle of Ralph Lauren perfume and said that I would always remember it was from him because he was Ralph.
