GWENDOLINE SANDIFORD On July 6, 2012, with her family by her side, Gwendoline Dorothy Sandiford went peacefully to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Saviour. Public viewing will take place on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave Street. GWENDOLINE SANDIFORD On July 6, 2012, with her family by her side, Gwendoline Dorothy Sandiford went peacefully to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Saviour. Gwen was born on the beautiful island of Barbados. In 1961, Gwen's life journey took her to Reading, England where she worked as a nurses' aid. In 1974, Gwen moved to Winnipeg and continued her work in health care, first at the Sharon Home and then at the Women's Pavilion Health Sciences Centre from where she retired in 1990. Gwen's move to Canada was not only a time of new opportunities and new experiences; it was also the time that her journey with God began. Gwen was a devout Christian and was a very active member for over thirty years at the Calvary Temple. Gwen loved to cook and bake and took great pleasure in providing large feasts for her family. She leaves to mourn her brother Rupert, her children: Ritchie (Nellie), Larry (Yolande), Pat (Nazir) and Stephen, her grandchildren: Jason, Suffia, Jasmin (Joe), Lara, Philippe, William, her great-grandchildren: Keiran, Jayden, Keira, Maddox, Kate and Grace and her dear cousin, Maylene. Gwen will also be dearly missed by her special friends at the Calvary Temple and the West Indian Fellowship. The family would like to thank the staff at Southeast Personal Care Home for their compassionate care of Gwen. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gwen's memory to Teen Challenge, 414 Edmonton Street, Winnipeg, MB, 949-9484 or a charity of one's choice. Rest in peace with your Lord and Saviour.
