She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughters Monika (Rick) St. Pierre, Angela Allan, Amanda, Eva (Paul) Olfert and by her grandchildren Craig, Jen, Scott, Colleen Allan; Jay, Kristin Rahn; Cole, Caden Olfert. Her memory will also be cherished by her loving sister Maria (Hans) Rogalski, cousins in Germany and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 52 years, Hans, her only son, Robert, her parents Frederick Theodore and Adeline Bartulei, and brother Waldemar. Trudy was born on August 7, 1931 in Velikiye Luki, Russia. She met Hans in Germany in 1947 and they were married on December 9, 1950 shortly after immigrating to Winnipeg. She went to evening classes to learn to read and write English and was employed as a health care aide at the Health Sciences Centre until her retirement in 1990. Trudy was a woman of unwavering faith and it was evident that God was her strength throughout her life. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church for many years where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and helped wherever she could. In later years she attended Calvary Temple as long as she was able. Music was a very important part of her life especially hymns. She sang in St. Peter's Choir for 30 years. Whenever she could, she would watch the Lawrence Welk Show. Besides working outside the home, Trudy was a devoted, loving wife and mother as well as an exceptional homemaker who loved cooking, baking, gardening, and when it came to flowers, there were never enough. She especially loved her family, family gatherings, pictures, anything purple and always welcomed visitors any day, any time. Trudy enjoyed travelling and camping. She often spoke about trips to Blue Lake, Hawaii, Florida and Germany and the wonderful memories she had. When Mom needed extra care, she moved to Fred Douglas Heritage House Supportive Housing where she resided until moving to Meadowood Manor in 2011. Special thanks to the staff of Heritage House, Victoria General Hospital and Meadowood Manor for their compassionate care. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, July 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., with Rev. Bruce Logan officiating. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meadowood Manor Chaplaincy or Parkinson's Society Manitoba. Psalm 139: 17-18 NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE (204) 949-2200 (Gimli 204-642-7124) nbardal.mb.ca

Mom, it has been six weeks now since you passed away but it feels like an eternity. I miss you more as each day goes by and the void in my life that I feel will never be filled. But I know that you are in a much better place now, free of pain and sorrow. You are singing with the heavenly Angels and have been reunited with your loving Husband and only Son. I will forever cherish the memories I have of you, the life lessons you taught me and the traditions you passed on. "Now the Light has gone away." - Posted by: Angela (Daughter) on: Aug 24, 2012
