She leaves to cherish her memory, her parents Robert and Beverley McLean; her husband Alexander Oral Turner; sister Mona Asham (Ian); brother Marty McLean (Rose); sisters Jami Hudson (Brent), Ginger McLean (Lucas), Dayna McLean (Jordan); her nieces Kerishia McLean, Cetina McLean, Arianna Asham, Alivia Asham; nephews Noah McLean, Ethan Asham and Jordan McLean; her aunts and uncles from her father's side Eileen Spence, Harriet McLean, Shirley Grindey (Mark), Hilda Leveque (Howard), Runa McLean (Tony), Chris McLean (Karen), Gordon McLean (Joanne), John McLean (Sheila), Raymond McLean (Jean), Allan McLean (Darlene), Jacob McLean (Bernice) and Daniel McLean (Sharilyn); her aunts and uncles from her mother's side Jean Nobess (Ron), Rose Halaburda (Nick), Eileen Hunter (Art), Sophia Stagg (Leonard), Judy Thurier (Bruce), Bert Woodhouse (Christine), Walter Woodhouse (Doreen) and her in-laws Flora and Bob Turner, brothers-in-law Clint Tuner (Pat), Bobby Turner (Mary Ann), Eddy Turner, Shane Turner (Ida), Sedley Turner, and sister-in-law Maria Turner; she will also be missed as a friend and cousin to many. Teky was born in Fairford, Manitoba in 1974. She attended elementary and junior high in Stedman School in Fairford. She finished her grade twelve at Ashern Central School. After high school Teky went to Central Pentecostal Bible College with her sister Mona where she made many lifelong friends and had many great adventures (sneaking to seven eleven after curfew and a T.V. into the dorm). Teky returned to Manitoba to live in Winnipeg with her sisters and brother where she finished her diploma in Business Administration at Red River College. She then went to the University of Manitoba where she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree. She was also working on completing the last year of her degree in education. After completing her studies Teky went to work for A.C.F.S. in the finance and social work department back home in Fairford. She was very happy to be home again. In 2009, Teky met the love her life, Alex Turner of Norway House, Manitoba. She and Alex were wed at the Fairford Sanctuary in September of 2010. She loved her husband very much and was very happy to share her life with him. Teky often talked about how she and Alex were so alike. They were both very private and enjoyed a lot of the same things. She would say It's so amazing how Alex is just like me. Teky was a loving daughter to her parents whom she honoured and cherished. She was the best gift giver of the family to her nieces and nephews who called her aunty-mom. She loved to tease her brothers-in-law and joke with them. She was very quick witted and sharp with her comebacks. There were always so many laughs with her. Teky loved to bake and sew. She made the best pastries and pancakes. She was very neat and liked things very clean. Her baby sister Dayna called Teky her wallet. Teky called Dayna pancake face. She always liked to dress up nice and look good no matter where she went. You would never see Teky in public with sweats or messy hair. Teky always thought that she was a great driver but she really was a scary driver. Before she would do a crazy turn she would tell her sisters hang on girls! Education was very important to Teky and she always encouraged others to go and finish their education. She just loved studying and learning about new things. Teky was very excited about the Forge College that was being developed at the Fairford Sanctuary. She was looking forward to being a part of it. Teky was raised in a Christian home and served the Lord since she was a young girl. She loved the Lord and worked as a Sunday School Teacher at the Fairford Sanctuary for some time. The children loved the characters that she developed in her puppet shows. Teky served the Lord and kept the faith right until the end. Even when she was very weak she would still raise her hands and praise God. She never wanted anyone to cry and she kept saying that she was not sick but well. Her last note to us read: Tekawetha is well and then she passed on. Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the Fairford House of Prayer with Richard Anderson officiating. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Fairford Sanctuary with Associate Pastor Clifford Anderson officiating. Interment to follow at the St. Helen's Cemetery with Pastor Rev. Alex James Anderson officiating. The active Pallbearers will be her dad's brothers, Chris McLean, Gordon McLean, John McLean, Raymond McLean, Allan McLean and Jacob McLean. Crossbearer will be her dad's youngest brother, Daniel McLean. Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593

I had to read this once again, because it only seemed like yesterday you had gone to be with Our Lord and Saviour. I can't believe it will be three years. Not one day will go by without me thinking of you Teky. Last night your nephew said I felt someone in the room, a relative, I knew he was talking about you. We all love you and miss you and some sweet day we will all be together. You always told me I was the stronger one, that day before you left us I cried and told you I can never be as strong as you. You are the stronger one. You fought a hard battle but had won the fight. Love you sis'. - Posted by: Marty McLean (Brother) on: Jan 27, 2015

I miss the sister who felt like my twin. We celebrated our birthdays together and spent most of our lives in each other's company. She was reserved at times but once you earned her trust, she would show you her funny side. She was a loyal, honest, and compassionate person. I miss our morning coffee time and shopping expeditions. I miss going to the movies with the only person who liked sci-fi and old victorian movies like me. I miss the sister who would come over to my home with popcorn n a movie. Most of all i am so sad that i never got to see you become the great mom and teacher i knew you would be. You left us too early but i know one day i will see you again! - Posted by: Mona Asham () on: Oct 14, 2013

I think lots about Teky. She was a beautiful woman and I miss her greatly. A year has almost gone by, but it seems like yesterday that we were getting ready to go to her wedding. I miss you, Teky... - Posted by: Melanie (Cousin) on: Apr 06, 2013

"the LORD takes the best" my condolences to your family Robert and Beverley. It is hard to find words to express the way people feel at times like this. Your strong beliefs in the Creator will pull you through your grieving process. We all know that she is in a better place, free of pain and suffering. The Lord be with you and your family, amen. - Posted by: Emily Anderson Kent (Cousin) on: Jul 19, 2012

Teky, you would have made a wonderful teacher someday! You believed in people and knew the value and importance of getting an education. You were such a sweet, gentle, and caring person. I am so happy that I got to meet you, sit beside you for many of our classes, and work on projects together! You had a beautiful spirit, and the light of Jesus shone through you. You will be missed. ♥ Jodi - Posted by: Jodi Pankratz (Classmate in Faculty of Education (U of M)) on: Jul 19, 2012

Although I never knew Teky as the beautiful young lady she became. I do have this one particular memory of this very cute little redhead, I would guess approximately 3 years old, standing in the back seat of a car driven by her cousin. Looking very shy and oh so cute. - Posted by: Jerry Letandre (Friend of family) on: Jul 18, 2012
