Together with Sandor in February, 1957 they walked away from their homeland to find hope and build a better future in Canada. Margit spent her career doing what she loved best, working with people. She was a nurse's aide at the Sanatorium Board of Manitoba and retired after 27 years from the Respiratory Centre. An astute woman, she demonstrated strong principles in her beliefs and work ethics. She held her friends close to her heart and always had words of encouragement and love. An avid reader, even when her eyesight started to fade, her book tapes kept her company. She loved weekend fishing trips, travelling, making crafts and visiting with friends. Her most memorable times were her and Sandor's winter trips to Texas. With their beloved Buffy in her lap and Sandor at the wheel, she travelled for ten years to Paradise Park where again friends and strangers were always welcomed. She had a straightforward approach to life and never lacked a comment for any of life's challenges. Most will remember her famous I am not old, I was just born too soon . Thank you to the staff on 2N at Donwood Personal Care Home for all your love and kind attention to our dear one. Dearest Margit REST IN PEACE, you will always be remembered as a loving wife and friend. Memorial service will take place Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, with Pastor Wanda Derksen officiating. Interment will follow.
