Doug was a great man, we fondly remember the good times at our wedding in 2001, Doug was our MC at the wedding and his humor and wittiness will give us something to look back on and laugh. • Our deepest thoughts are with Jordon and Jeremy at this sad time. Your Dad loved you very much and took great pride in you both. One of Doug's greatest attributes was that he was always willing to give a helping hand. Whenever Doug saw me he would always tell the story of how he remembered me getting off the plane from Scotland when my family immigrated to Winnipeg and how I was this tiny baby and that he used to change my diaper. As a teenager, young adult and now mature adult this used to embarrass me as it was always said in mixed company, the latest being at his niece Elizabeth's wedding in May. NOW I would do anything to hear you tell that story. You will be missed - rest in peace. Love Janete and John Anderson - Posted by: Janette Anderson (Cousin) on: Jul 25, 2012

  • Over the many, many years I remember Doug as a friendly face and always sharing a story about old times from building his house to how family members were doing. Most recently, I would look for Doug at his favourite table at "the ditch" to check in how he was spending his day and enjoying his retirement. He will be truly missed by everyone. I would like to express our condolences on behalf of the entire Payjack Family and the many Legion members who knew Doug not only from Branch 215 but throughout Zone 64 of the Royal Canadian Legion. - Posted by: Joseph Payjack (Friend and fellow Legionaire (Zone 64 Commander Royal Canadian Legion) on: Jul 25, 2012

  • Enjoyed working with Doug for a short time he was on our shift. He always seemed to have a scheme or plan on the go. If not that then it was his kids. Peace be with you Doug and your family. - Posted by: Mike Robson (friend\firefighter) on: Jul 25, 2012

  • My condolences for Jeremy and Jordan. Your Dad was quite a character and he loved you both dearly. You were both a great source of happiness for him. As a kid Doug was alwyas helping family and friends to fix things and build -never asking for anything in return. Rest in Peace, Uncle Doug. Love Shannon Zest, Luc Bouillon, Tristan and ZoĆ© Bouillon. - Posted by: Shannon Zest (niece) on: Jul 25, 2012

  • Our condolences to the family and to Peggy. We will miss walking, biking or driving by without seeing Doug sitting out on his front step talking with friends or waving to people going by. We had known Doug 20 years. He was always willing to help anybody out. When our mom fell and broke her hip in our driveway a few summers ago, Doug was the first one to race over and help us stabilize her till the paramedics arrived. Hillview will really miss Doug a lot! His smile, his wave, his character. You will be truly missed Doug. - Posted by: herman and doreen bekkering (neighbour) on: Jul 24, 2012
