I knew Henry when he was still married to Dorothy. That was in Moore Park back in the 70's. Us kids would go with a quarter in our hands and go to their store every payday for Dad. We always got a pop, chips and especially mojo's (banana flavored was the best). Henry always stood there for as long as we wanted, never complaining about a bunch of kids taking over his porch/store. I worked for Henry as a teenager cleaning out the grain elevators. He made us feel very important and grown up even though we probably just got more in his way. Moore Park was a very close community and everyone knew everyone. Henry and Dorothy were a wonderful part of that community and I'm sure I know many people will remember them fondly. I only received this today via face book, so I am sorry it took this long to relay my thoughts to you. It was many years ago, but I'll never forget Henry Banman. Henry and his wife Sarah came into our lives when his brother Jake married my Mom. On visits to Winnipeg they opened their home and their hearts to us. We are truly better people for having known Henry. Thank you Henry. - Posted by: Pat Golata ("step-niece") on: Jul 25, 2012

I met Henry when I first step to Canada in 2008. Like many other international students, Henry and his wife Sarah were my first host, shelter and friends in this land. He was lovely and warm. I could never imagine a better second family in a land so far away. If I want to describe him I just have to say: He loved to love people. Rest in peace Henry. - Posted by: Shekoo () on: Jul 25, 2012
