Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) SOUTHWOOD August 28, 1922 - July 23, 2012 Bill passed away peacefully at the Pembina Place Personal Care Home on Monday, July 23, 2012 just a few weeks short of his 90th birthday. Bill was predeceased by his wife Helen in 2010. He will be thoroughly missed by his son Gary (Kathy) of Langley, BC; stepsons Rockwell (Eva) and Douglas, stepdaughter Sandra; his sister Patricia, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill was born and raised in Winnipeg, and had a very successful career in the food industry. Starting with Eaton's and retiring with Sobey's. Bill really enjoyed his spare time at Caddy Lake and taking numerous driving trips to the US. Gardening was also a great passion that he had, with roses being his favourite. Special thanks go out to relatives and friends who spent time with Bill over the last few weeks, especially Carol and Ed, and Nadine and Bim, to make his last days very enjoyable. As well all the great staff at Pembina Place who took great care of Bill. In celebration of Bill's life, a come and go reception will be held on Friday, July 27 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. Interment will be in the Garden of Memories on a bed of roses. Always enjoyed going out to the peg every year growing up! Even though it was 16 hour drive it was worth it everytime. Countless memories were made and stories that will be passed down for years to come. Truly one amazing grandpa with a heart of gold who lived a great loving life.
