LENA ROGOWSKI (nee ANDRUSHUK) Peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012 Lena Rogowski passed away at the age of 92 at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by husband Mike, father Bill, step-mother Sophia, son-in-law Harvey Hryciw, daughter-in-law Elaine, stepbrother's wife Claudette, and stepsister's husband Nick. Survived by her stepbrothers and sisters; Phillip, Milley, Stella, and George (Barb). Lena will be lovingly remembered by her children; Helen (Lawrence), Marie, Jack and her grandchildren; Darrell (Melody), Darcy (Elise), Darlene (Bill), Jeff, Greg (Nadine), Pam (Lionel), Cindy (Ray), Jason (Christy) and 14 great-grandchildren. Lena was born in Foley, Manitoba and raised in Stead, Manitoba. Mike married Lena May 25, 1940 after a short courtship. They farmed and raised their family in the Komarno area. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lena also enjoyed puzzles, puzzle books, and card games. In 1976, Mom and Dad moved off the farm to the Town of Komarno. After Dad's passing in 1990, Mom stayed on the farm for a short time, then in 1991 moved to Fairview Apartments in Teulon. In 2009, Mom moved to Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg and lived there until her passing. Along the way she made many friends and great memories. We would like to thank the staff at Middlechurch for their constant care and compassion during her stay. As an expression of sympathy or in lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Lena to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB. R3L 0K6 Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Komarno, MB. Internment will take place at Komarno Cemetery.
