We were deeply saddened to read of Mel's passing. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his wife and family. Our friendship goes back to high school days in Killarney when Mel was known as 'Melody Mel' as he sang his way back and forth to school. He was a devoted family man and always shared his love of the outdoors and sports with his friends and through his newpaper column. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. - Posted by: Bob and Phyllis Preston (Friends since high school in Killarney) on: Aug 07, 2012

Uncle Mel was well-loved. My fondest memory as a child was the smell of his pipe. Because of that, to this day everytime I smell pipe smoke I think of him. - Posted by: Michelle Webster (Niece) on: Aug 04, 2012

Our most sincere condolences to the Dagg family. Please know our thoughts and prayers have been with you all. Your Father and Grandfather that we came to know always had a welcoming smile for us. We enjoyed seeing the catch of the day and learning the stories behind it. May he rest in peace and your memories of him warm your hearts everyday. Sincerely, Brock, Tannis and Cole Taylor. - Posted by: The Taylor Family (neighbors) on: Aug 04, 2012
