MARJORY IRENE MEWHA On Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Grace Hospital, Marjory Mewha passed away peacefully after a short illness at the age of 102. Marjory was predeceased by her husbands, Percy and Tansley, her sisters Olive and Dorrie and her daughter Patsy. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Katy (Bud) and Carolyn (Eric), grandchildren; Marcia, Mark, Doug, Scott, Shauna, Jeff, Chris, Curtis, Jill and Jessie, great-grandchildren; Cody, Hayley and Skyler and great-great-granddaughter Breighann. Marjory grew up on a farm where she had a lot of responsibility and learned at an early age how to cook. She played a lot of sports including baseball, hockey and soccer when she was younger. She loved gardening both vegetable and flowers. She was a very talented sewer and knitter making most of her kids' clothes. She was also an artist as evidenced by paintings (canvas, flower pots, rocks). She was heavily involved with Airways Community Club (square dancing, Bingo and making cute dolls (GONKS) for the fish pond). She received the Community Achievement Award for volunteering. She lived on her own until she was 100 and then decided she needed a rest so she moved into The Westhaven. There she met many new friends and was generally spoiled with great food and care. We would like to sincerely thank the staff at Grace Hospital (Emergency, 3 South and Doctor George) for the wonderful care she received. Memorial service will take place on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I am so sorry to hear. I wish I had known and I would have tried to get out there or at least sent flowers. She was always such a fun person to be around and I will always remember her great sense of humour and especially her laugh. My belated condolences to everyone.
