EDNA MOYLE (WALKER) Edna passed away peacefully on the evening of August 3, 2012 at Fred Douglas Lodge. Born in Winnipeg October 4, 1920 she is survived by her daughter Diane (Robert Haglund), sons Thomas and William (Linda), granddaughter Jane Haglund (Robert Scott), sister-in-law Grace Walker, brother-in-law Fred White (Gail), numerous nieces and nephews and members of the clan . She was predeceased by Clarence (Larry), her beloved husband of 51 years, in June 1992; by her parents William and Clara (Ogston) Walker and her brother William (Bill) Walker in January 2012. Edna grew up in the west end and attended General Wolf and Daniel MacIntyre schools. She worked for the T. Eaton Company after graduation and again when her children were grown. Family was the focus of her life and gatherings of the clan for birthdays, picnics, tobogganing, or chats around a campfire were frequent. Trips to visit relatives in Scotland and friends in Switzerland were highlights. Edna was a talented knitter and creative cook and for a time she enjoyed experimenting with pottery. In later years travelling to horse shows with Jane became an important part of her life. For the past five years Edna struggled with the harsh realities of dementia with remarkable grace. She frequently stated to caregivers thank-you for helping me . She never lost her love of family gatherings and almost to the end would give her favourite toast: aren't we lucky . She is sadly missed. The family would like to thank the staff team of Maple Unit at Fred Douglas Lodge for their compassionate care and caring for Edna during the past two and a half years. Family and friends are invited to consider making a contribution to a favourite charity in celebration of her life. A gathering of the clan with private service is planned. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • It is with deep regret we learned of your mother's passing. You have our condolences. We never met Edna but she must have been a great lady based on how Bill turned out! It is never easy to lose a parent or grandparent. One can only take solace in the fact she lived a long and full life, and left future generations better off for having known her. A donation in her memory will be made to the Hope Lutheran church youth group. Love, Jack & Jackie - Posted by: Jack & Jackie Bisek (Friends of Bill and Linda) on: Aug 19, 2012
