Chaduated from Transcona Collegiate Institute (T.C.I) in 1983 with honours and then worked for the Provincial Government for the Manitoba Corrections fine options department for many years. Char was an avid animal lover, enjoying many pets over the years. Most dear to her were her two Persian cats, Phil and Courtney. She enjoyed travelling across Canada and the US to attend various cat shows where Courtney was entered and gradually reached the highest title status - Quad Grand Champion. Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I had the good fortune to work with Charlene for a short period of time. She was genuinely fond of her work and took great pride in the job she did...holidays were her specialty! I didn't know there were decorations for some of them..but if it was a holiday..Charlene had them! I know that she loved her nieces and nephews very much. She certainly will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Sweetie! - Posted by: Dallis Winterburn-Hafichuk (co-worker) on: Aug 16, 2012

  • To join with so many others who knew Charlene in offering my deepest sympathy on her passing. Charlene touched so many lives with her laughter and her giving personality. Charlene enjoyed making others happy by always giving gifts. I know my girls will always remember her cakes, candy and gifts she gave them. I learn something from everyone who enters my life, and Charlene taught me to make my workplace a happy one by celebrating holidays with co-workers...I learned that we can have hot dog and pizza days in any size of office. I will also always remember her smile and kind heart. - Posted by: Corinne Pierce (Co-worker and friend) on: Aug 15, 2012

  • My heartfelt condolences to Charlene's family. I remember how much Charlene loved coming to work and how sad she was to have to leave her job. Her health problems did not stop her from her zest for sprucing up her office with decorations for every single occasion; Christmas; Halloween; Valentine's Day; St. Patrick's, etc. She would love to arrange the occasional get-together for lunch; where she would cook hot dogs on her old-fashioned steamer. I remember her talking ever so fondly about her nieces and nephews. I know she suffered terribly with her illness and was very sad to hear about passing. Sending my thoughts and prayers to Charlene's family and friends. Sincerely, Arlene Dorge - Posted by: Arlene Dorge (Co-Worker) on: Aug 11, 2012
