I moved to Brandon in the summer of 1952 just before high school started--knew no one in the city! On the first day of school I was walking past Ken's house when he came out. We struck up a conversation, and one could say we became friends before covering the four blocks to BCI. Ken was my best friend thru the three years in high school--many fond memories!!! I went on to join the RCAF and Ken started his career in the grocery business. Distances prevented us from seeing each other much, but our paths did cross occasionally. However, we have exchanged Christmas letters every year since 1955. He was a great guy and a great fiend, and will be missed by all. Sincere condolences go out to Tammy, Tracy and all the family. Rest in piece Old Buddy, and I hope Pat got her Rose!! Fondly, Ed Slobodian - Posted by: Ed Slobodian (High School Buddy!!) on: Aug 23, 2012

I am so very sorry for your loss. Though I have only known Ken for a short time I will always cherish his humour and his love and dedication to Ali - coming to all her dance practices and recitals...he always had this gruff exterior but you could see him melt whenever Ali was anywhere near him... God be with you all at this time. - Posted by: Holly Thibert (Friend) on: Aug 15, 2012

We will remember Ken as a good example of human strength, for his wonderful generosity and for the love and respect he shared so successfully with family and friends. - Posted by: Byron and Pat Razella (Father-in-law and Mother-in-law) on: Aug 14, 2012

I only had the privilege of spending time with Ken a couple of times at Wade & Tracey's for dinner. He always had a laugh for everyone and was a wonderful person to hang out with. He even built me a cat-tree. I know he will be missed everyone he was close to. Take comfort in that his pain has ended and he is now reunited with his love. Take care. - Posted by: Davina Mason (Friend of Wade & Tracey) on: Aug 14, 2012

I met Ken only two times in my life, and I see that Tracy has so much of her father in her. Tracy and Wade, your father is in a far better place with no more pain. Our hearts go out to you and your family at this time. - Posted by: Janet Bollman and Family (Friends of Tracy and Wade) on: Aug 14, 2012

Tracy, Tammy and families: My heart is breaking for you all right now. I remember your dad so fondly, and feel honoured, that in my childhood I could call your father my second "dad".....the fireworks in the backyard, the bbq's, and the laughs are forever with me. You were truly blessed with an amazing family, always making others feel included, safe and loved. We hold you close in our hearts during this very difficult time, and know that we will be thinking of you now and always. We have fond memories of times shared so many years ago, and last saw Ken one year ago at a reunion of former neighbours. May your good memories of your Dad give you comfort and peace, and may you be aware of God's love surrounding you as you are in the thoughts and prayers of so many. - Posted by: Monty and MaryBeth Flom (former neighbour) on: Aug 13, 2012
