ELVIN E. SCHWARTZ June 2, 1931 August 12, 2012 Elvin passed away peacefully at the Red River Place Nursing Home at the age of 81 years. He is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Elvin was predeceased by his wife Ada, his mother and father Catherine and Jacob Schwartz also his brother Kenneth. Elvin was born in Stornoway, SK, moved to Portage La Prairie as a teenager, later moving to Winnipeg with the family where he completed his education, and became employed at the C.I.B.C. bank. He ventured into other employment fields accounting being his first. Elvin married Ada in 1963 and shared 39 years of blissful marriage. They loved country living and built their dream home in 1975. Upon retiring one of his favourite hobbies was polishing gem stones and making beautiful necklaces among other jewellery. A memorial service will be held at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave, Winnipeg, across form Brookside Cemetery, On Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. lunch to follow, interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elvin's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or a charity of one's choice.
