Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • There is a very special place in my heart for Frank. It was very much a surprise to learn of his passing. Frank was very special to my mother, his Auntie Marian, who babysat him. With the onset of our elders starting to pass, the first being Uncle Bill, Frank made sure he could be there to share in the family sorrow. I am really glad to have met him, become friends, and share in his honor of family. I return to him, and his family, the same honor, that is to share in the sorrow with his passing. - Posted by: Carol Smith (cousin) on: Apr 07, 2013

  • My condolences to the family on his passing. I was on council with your Dad in the early 90's. He was at times a hard man but I learned alot from him over the years, he was a very smart business man and he loved to share his experiences with others. He contributed alot to the development of our town through his council work as well as his time on the school board. We have much to thank him for. - Posted by: Bev Dube (Municipal Councillor when he was Mayor of Powerview) on: Aug 20, 2012

  • To Danielle, Ed, and Jo-Ann; Moe and I are so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. If we were in Manitoba we certinly would be with you during this time. Your father will be missed if only for the laughs he could get out of us with his teasing. That was his way of letting us know he cared about us and was interested in what we were doing. He always made an effort to see us whenever we were in town and his visits will be missed. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.... - Posted by: Odile & Moe Alarie (cousin) on: Aug 20, 2012

  • Frank loved kids and he loved to tease them. My sister Georgia and I were often on the receiving end with lots of giggling. When he returned home after his time in the navy, he brought gifts for all of us. Georgia received embroidered oriental pyjamas and I received a hula skirt and toy ukulele from Hawaii. I loved that outfit, and Frank would remind me about if often through the years. In hindsight, a young man bringing gifts for his much younger cousins was a very thoughtful gesture and was never forgotten. - Posted by: Brenda Vopni (Cousin) on: Aug 19, 2012
