Born: Dec 01, 1925
Date of Passing: Aug 18, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST (ERNIE) RIEDLE 1925 - 2012 On August 18, 2012, our father, grandfather and brother, Ernest (Ernie) Riedle very peacefully left this world to join his wife Doris and many other dear friends and relatives. Dad was born in Ritzing, Austria on December 1, 1925, and moved to Canada with his family when he was still a young boy. Dad or MAC as he was often called was a veteran of the Second World War. Because of his service to Canada, Dad lost most of his hearing. Even so, he always heard perfectly when anyone asked if he wanted a beer! Gramps loved all his grandkids, and was fortunate to have been blessed with many. Dad was always happiest holding a baby in his arms, while trying to make them smile. He had a mischievous sense of humor which clearly endeared him to friends, family, and co-workers. Pops earned his living behind the wheel of a truck, and because of his strong work ethic, there was always bread on the table. Although he did not have many hobbies, Dad was a keen movie critic and absolutely loved the Golden Oldies era, which included many Western flicks. Dad spent his last years at Vista Park Lodge where he found a very caring and compassionate group of hard working people. Thanks to all the staff for your help. As the sun sets on this cowboy's life, he gently waves goodbye to his sons and daughters, Aline (Don) Munson, Gerry, Linda (Don) Landrie, Ernie Jr. (Lori) and Dennis (Kathy). He also bids a fond farewell to all his grand and great-grandchildren, each and everyone of you made him smile. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Green Acres Funeral Home. Hey Mac- Gonna miss you! GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

My grandpa was a great man, I was very blessed to have him in my life. It saddens me that I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to my grandpa but I'll always remember how he made me feel and how his smile could brighten up a room. I miss you more than words can say and I'll love you forever. Take care up there and give grandma a hug for me. - Posted by: Calan riedle (Granddaughter) on: Aug 21, 2012
