GEORGE HARCOURT KENT August 18, 1915 - August 13, 2012 Suddenly but peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2012, George passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 97 years. George is survived by and lovingly remembered by his daughter Colleen, his sister Edith Eileen Kent and the many close friends and colleagues that loyally supported him in his declining years. He was predeceased by his wife, Joy and his brother Bill. Born in Winnipeg he spent his career in broadcasting, particularly sports tv production with the CBC. A very special thanks to the staff at Deer Lodge Centre, Marianne and Frank Siemens and Marlene Lane of the Royal Bank for their attentiveness, care and consideration in his latter years. At George's request, no formal service will be held and a memorial gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of George to the Winnipeg Humane Society and / or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind for research in macular degeneration would be a great honour to George. Final arrangements with Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue.
