STUART JOHN HARPER May 30, 1948 - August 16, 2012 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son, brother and grandfather Stuart Harper. Peacefully, surrounded by family, Stu passed away at the age of 64 after a brave battle with cancer. Stu was predeceased by his father Sidney in 1988. Stu is survived by his wife Patricia Dowse; his daughters Shelley (Stewart) Shaeffer, Sarah (Jason Ewanek), Shaylene (Craig Stewart); his stepchildren Jess McMahon (Charlene) and Kristen McMahon; his mother Joan Harper; his brother Dale (Jan) and sister Bev Heggie (Rick); his grandchildren Sidney, Spencer, Seth, Austen, Jayden, Easton, Keanna, Kayden, Patrick and Avery; and many nieces and nephews. Stu was an avid outdoorsman, truly at his happiest out in nature whether hunting, boating, quading or sharing a campfire with friends. Stu was charismatic and outgoing- a personality befitting his career in sales spanning some 40 years. His last few years, Stu's happiest times were spending summer and winter weekends at his camp at Netley Creek, planning his future cabin and retirement. Stu will be sadly missed by friends new and old. We would like to thank and acknowledge the many friends who have helped make our loss so much easier to bear; as well as the care provided by Dr. Patricia Harris. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main Street, Stonewall. Flowers are gratefully declined; in lieu of flowers a donation to the Children's Wish Foundation (South Interlake Chapter) would be appreciated. • I was very saddened to hear the news of Stuart's passing. He was a very close school friend of my first husband, Larry Rew, who passed away in 1976. Stuart and Larry were wedding attendants for each other's first wedding back in the 70's. They had great times together back then. I hope they can "catch up" now that they're together again after so long. - Posted by: Debbie (Rew) Bruneteau (Friend) on: Aug 29, 2012
