Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • So sorry to hear that Josephine passed away. My sisters and I have fond memories of many conversations with her in the dining room during meal times at Meadowood. Josephine and our dear late Mother sat at the same table and also lived across the hall from each other. She will be missed. Our condolences to the family. - Posted by: Angela () on: Aug 24, 2012

  • It is difficult to express how saddening this event is for my family. Living in Mississauga, it was not often that I was able to spend quality time in person with my grandmother. However, every summer and vacation that we took to Winnipeg, I was always warmly welcomed into her home with a treat of Old Dutch chips hiding in the pantry, and some delicious homemade Polish treats like perogies or cabbage rolls. I have fond memories of playing in the basement at Grandma's house in Beausejour with my brother when we were younger while Grandma, Grandpa and our parents spent time upstairs talking around the kitchen table or in the living room. Once Grandma went into the nursing home, I made sure to call her as often as I could. She regaled me with stories of Poland, of growing up with her siblings, with her secret family recipes and what it was like raising my dad and my aunt. Even though we did not live close together, I feel a special bond with my grandmother and am terribly saddened by her passing. You will be missed, Grandma. We love you so much!!! - Posted by: Emily Ptak (Granddaughter) on: Aug 23, 2012
