WILLIAM (BILL) HOLUB
Date of Passing: Aug 17, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) HOLUB Surrounded by love, Bill Holub died in his 94th year, on August 17, 2012. His family is overwhelmingly saddened by the loss of an exceptional and courageous man who was devoted to his family. He leaves his cherished daughters, Carol Holub and Lynn Avery, son-in-law Grant Avery and his adored grandsons, David and Marc Avery (Tanya). Poppa loved these boys very much. Daddy was predeceased by our mother, his beloved wife Bernice (Brownie), his parents Peter and Mary, his brother Nick, and by his in-laws Karol and Carolina Zdebiak, who loved him as a son. Daddy's legacy is one of love and of strength of character. Through sheer force of will and unwavering determination, he refused to accept the lousy odds life often dealt him, and made them work in his favour. Self-educated and a risk taker, he was a clever and successful entrepreneur and businessman, who placed a high premium on loyalty, fairness and honesty. Runyonesque in character, he never suffered fools gladly, and did not hesitate to make his opinions known. He was also tender of heart and full of humanity. He will be remembered by friends and former employees for the kindness and selfless generosity he extended to them. Daddy valued his family above all, and loved us unconditionally. He was the anchor in our lives, a protective and comforting presence, a generous provider and a role model. We adored him and will always miss his wisdom, brilliance, quick wit and of course, his stories. And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. (Hamlet) Thank you Dr. Babick. As per Daddy's wishes, cremation has taken place and was followed by a private family interment. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 www.gleneden-mb.ca

I worked several years at Hilton Amusements and was always excited to go to work with Bill & Dave. Remember discussions with Bill on buying a yellow (67?)Chevelle for one of his girls. I hope she enjoyed it. I bought his '61 Pontiac Bonneville back around 1969. Wish I still had it now. Bill's the kind of guy you always look up to and enjoy having around. Many terrific memories. He's a guy this world will miss. - Posted by: Ian McClay (Employee) on: Aug 27, 2012

I met Bill back in 197o when I worked for him and Dave at Hilton Amusements. We had a great time for 5 years. Bill was always very funny and made going to work a pleasure. I often think of him and I am sure his family will miss him very much. - Posted by: Art Lamblin (former employee) on: Aug 25, 2012
