OLAV (OA) LINDSTROM Passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2012, at the Health Sciences Centre with his wife Colleen and his friends by his side. Oa passed away peacefully after fighting cancer for over 15 years. He is survived by his wife Colleen, his sons Kristian and Markus as well as three grandchildren Max, Stella and Lacey. Oa was born in Turku, Finland, where he grew up and finished his studies at the University of Abo, earning a Masters degree in Chemistry. After a successful career in Finland he moved to Winnipeg in 1976, working for Winpak for a few years and then returned again 1990, where he retired as the Vice President of Operations in 2004. Many thanks to Dr. Richard Nason, Dr. Andrew Maksymiuk and staff at H3 at the Health Sciences Centre. A celebration of Oa's life will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28 at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, across from Brookside Cemetery. Oa was a good friend to our family, he was a funny thoughtful person and he will be missed. He was quick to share his Finnish books with my father, and visited Kenora as often as he could. He loved crayfish at the lake, we have a great picture of him with a big plate of them. Our deepest condolences to all of the Lindstrom family.
