SHARON KOSOWAN With great sadness the family regrets to announce the sudden passing of our beloved grandmother, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend, Sharon Kosowan on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Northland Trailer Park with numerous friends at her side. Her memory will be cherished by her loving mother and best friend Phyllis, her two sons John and Jim, her brother George (Vera and children Russell, Matthew, and Kama); her beloved grandson Andrew; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Sharon was predeceased by her father William, her brother Bert, and the love of her life and husband John. Sharon loved all those close to her dearly. She always thought and did things for others compassionately throughout her life. Sharon especially enjoyed summers at the lake, travelling with her mother and friends, golfing, bowling, gardening and reading. Sharon worked at Pirjo Luiisa, the M.L.C.C., and finished her working career at Revenue Canada where she made even more great friends. Her tenacity, spunk, and ability to take charge were well known, appreciated and respected. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, St. Boniface Unit, St. Boniface General Hospital, O block - 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. If friends wish to pay their last respects, viewing will take place at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012. Cremation will take place at Sharon's request. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home. A special thank you to the Lakers at the Northland Trailer Park and the medical personnel who tried so valiantly to keep mom with us. Mom, for all you imprinted on us, your sons will never forget you Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 www.gleneden-mb.ca

To Phyllis, John, Jim & Andrew - I am so shocked and saddened by the passing of my dear friend Sharon. We have been friends for 15 years, meeting at the tax centre. Quickly we formed our "group of six" - we dined together, drank wine together, even travelled to Mexico for a wonderful vacation together - she was a great support to me during some very difficult health issues - I will miss her cards that would appear in the mail every so often just telling me that she cared, and that she loved me - well the feeling was mutual - Sharon was a joy to be around for great conversations and laughs....I will miss that laugh so much....I love you my friend...my deepest sympathies to your Mom and boys who you loved so dearly....missing you already. - Posted by: Coreen Nickel (Friend) on: Aug 29, 2012

Is it not amazing how the people we meet help to form the mosaic of our lives? Some of those pieces are pretty and important but others are outstanding ! Sharon, and her ever joyful presence stands out in my memory as one of those outstanding parts. She made the work place at Pirjo-Liisa Fashions a happy place for everyone around her...not only that but she also performed all her tasks with perfection ! She was the dream employee every owner wishes for. She was also a gift to her family, being the loving wife to John, and adoring mother to her boys...and from what I hear, the perfect grandmother to Andrew, and last but not least...the beloved daughter of her mother and best friend ! She truly left the world a better place, and left a beautiful part to the mosaic of my life. Blessings Always to her Family, Liisa Johnson - Posted by: LIISA (NYGARD/NICHOL) JOHNSON (FRIEND AND FORMER FELLOW EMPLOYEE) on: Aug 29, 2012

We met Sharon at the lake a few years ago where we were their next door neighbours. We were welcomed with open arms and treated like family. Sharon was such a caring person who loved life. She set the bar very high with her work ethic at the lake where things were kept so beautiful. We will sadly miss the welcoming smile and wave as we would pull into the campground. We always said being at the lake was like being in heaven and although our hearts are deeply saddened by her passing, we take solace in knowing that she is in the true heaven. Sharon has now made heaven a better place. Our sympathy goes out to her mother and family. With Love and Respect from "The Ahotroop" - Posted by: Brooke Aho (Laker Family) on: Aug 29, 2012

I met Sharon on a trip to Mexico in 2005. I went along with my cousin who was with a big group of girls from the WTC. Sharon may have been the "senior" of the group but she sure kept up with everyone and more! She was the light of the group. We were just so happy that she was there. We had a wonderful time that week and she was a big part of the reason. She was one of the most sincere people I had ever met. My deepest sympathies to her family. I'm so sorry ♥ - Posted by: Robyn (Friend) on: Aug 29, 2012

Sharon has been my Graham's (my son) other Grandma for over 15 years. He spent pretty much every second weekend at Sharon's with her grandson Andrew. He spent every Mother's Day and Christmas Night at the Kosowan's. Sharon made Graham (and us) part of her family. We were more than neighbours and friends to her - for that I am so grateful. It was Sharon who had Graham try new foods that he would never try at home and when we would have dinner at Sharon's, I would say - Graham you like canned peas? Who knew! Last Christmas night was a very special one. Sharon made more of Andrew's friends her "grand kids." They all LOVED Grandma Sharon. I will miss sharing my books with Sharon. She was such an avid reader. I would often think of what type of book would Sharon like to read when I searched for books to buy. I have her signature "SK" on all books she read so she wouldn't read them a second time. And, the wine... how many times did she walk over with a bottle of wine so we could sit, chat and get "loaded." So many great memories over the years... Phyllis, John, Jim and Andrew - your daughter/ mom /grandma was one of the best. She was loved and respected by all that knew her and will be missed very much. The Dagg family will miss her - our love and thoughts are with you. God Speed Sharon. You made this world AND South Side a better place - Posted by: Nanci Makichuk Dagg (Friend) on: Aug 28, 2012

We are in shock! We just spoke earlier in the week and she was making her list for the lake. I can't believe she is gone. My heart is broken. The hole she leaves in our lives will never never be filled. She'll be happy she is with John again. So always missed him. - Posted by: June & Lou Koldy (Friends) on: Aug 28, 2012
