Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (JACK) JARVIS January 19, 1930 - August 26, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of John Jack Jarvis on August 26, 2012 at the age of 82 years. He suffered a severe stroke on July 10 and life seemed to slip away as the days passed. Jack was born in Gladstone on January 19, 1930, the fourth child of Fred and Dorothy Jarvis. Jack loved his family and friends deeply and spending time with them meant the world to him. He was a very caring, compassionate husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, who would do anything to help you out. He had a wonderful sense of humour and was cracking jokes until the very end. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ella; sons Ken (Carol), Kelvin (Tricia) and Leon; daughter Leona (Kelly); brothers Alfred and Allen (Bea); sisters-in-law Marge and Leona; brothers-in-law Richard (Lil) and Ronald (Judy); sisters-in-law Irene (Harvey) and Audrey (Jerry). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren Janis (Jarod), Chad (Jocelyn), Michelle, Tanya (John), Kyle, Blaine (Jenny), Jesse, Karly, Taylor and Holly as well as three great-grandchildren Madyson, Wyatt and Jack. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Dorothy; son Lionel; sister Kay; brothers Edgar, Esmond and Jim; sisters-in-law Alice and Jackie; and brother-in-law Bert. Jack loved the farm life, especially the livestock, cattle and horses. He spent many years showing and training horses along with his family. His greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren compete in all their sports, but really loved his hockey and ball. We would like to thank Dr. Kelly and all the hospital staff at Neepawa Hospital for the excellent care they gave Jack these last few weeks. It was greatly appreciated. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gladstone United Church with interment at the Gladstone Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Gladstone Skating Rink, c/o Town of Gladstone, Box 25, Gladstone, MB R0J 0T0. Clarke's Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements. www.clarkesfuneralhome.com
