WILLIAM HUTCHINSON March 4, 1925 - August 29, 2012 It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our Dad, Husband, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa on Wednesday, August 29, 2012. William has left to mourn him his wife of 67 years, Nancy Hutchinson (Munford), his four children, Irene, Janis, Gary (Glenda), and Glenn, brother Alan (Verna) and sister Eleanor. He is also survived by six grandchildren - Brad (Belinda), Darrin (Marlie), Lori, Jody (Thomas), Geoff, and Amanda (Nathan), and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother Ida Hutchinson (O'Blenis) and father John Garten Hutchinson. Dad was born in Winnipeg, attended Daniel Mac High School. He joined the R.C.A.F. at 17 and served in England during the Second World War where he met and married his wife Nancy. Dad worked 35 years at the Winnipeg Tribune, and after its closure he worked seven years with Revenue Canada. The family would like to thank the staff of CancerCare Manitoba and the wonderful, caring staff at the Riverview Health Centre. A private family interment will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolences at www.cropo.ca 204-586-8044

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the entire Hutchinson family. May you find comfort in knowing that others care and may God grant you peace in this difficult time. God bless you all. - Posted by: Bea Denby (Friend of Irene) on: Sep 12, 2012

  • Both Bev and I are deeply saddened by the news of Bill's passing. I have fond memories of our family trips to Bill's parents house in Winnipeg when I was a child. To Nan and family our thoughts and prayers are with you all... - Posted by: Bill and Bev Hutchinson (Cousin) on: Sep 09, 2012

  • My Dad (Percy Macklem) worked with Bill and I have very fond memories of growing up with the Hutchinson kids as neighbours. We all went to the same high school and remember sitting on the front steps of our home and talking to the neighbours as they walked by. My Mom and Dad moved away to the coast to be with us in 1983 and my dad passed away 10 years ago. My Mom (Evelyn) is 90 and is still going strong. I remember Bill as a real gentleman and am so sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with his family.....Sharon Read - Posted by: Sharon Read (Family friend) on: Sep 04, 2012

  • I met Bill and Nancy thru Irene. I was always impressed with his easy going and pleasant nature and he sure liked his golfing. Anyhow I wish to offer my condolences to the Hutchinson family. Thank you and Take care! George - Posted by: George Proulx (Friend of family) on: Sep 04, 2012

  • I first met Bill and his wife (Nan) when his daughter, Janis married my brother, Rick, many years ago. The short union of their marriage blessed Bill and Nan with two wonderful grandchildren, (also my niece and nephew) Darrin and Lori. They continue to light up my life. I remember him for his kindly comments, soft laughter, and pleasant gentle nature. His love and devotion for his wife, Nan, was always admirable and obviously displayed for all to witness. On behalf of my mother, Jessie, who passed away 3 months ago, and myself, I wish to send our warmest wishes to our dear friend Janis and the Hutchinson family at this difficult time of sorrow. - Posted by: Marie Pinder (family friend) on: Sep 02, 2012

  • So sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Shauna (Friend of Gary and Glenda) on: Sep 02, 2012

  • My husband Patrick worked with Bill and always considered Bill a friend and gentleman. I remember Tribune Xmas parties and picnics with Nan and Bill. 25 years ago we ran into Bill and Nan when we were in Puerta Vallarta celebrating our 25th with other Trib friends. I hold great memories. I offer you my most sincere condolences. Losing someone is a very difficult process. Giving thanks for every thing your loved one is and has been for you gives comfort and helps keep him close to you. Sincerely, Helene Bulger - Posted by: Helene Bulger (Tribune friend) on: Sep 01, 2012
