Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIONNA JOAN HASTMAN (nee LITKE) January 7, 1943 - August 31, 2012 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Vionna Hastman. Mom passed away peacefully at the age of 69 years, at the Beausejour Hospital, with her family by her side. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 50 years, Wilfred and five children, Catherine (Jeff), Roderick, Wayne, Cheryl (Rod) and David (Leann) and sister Janice Fiebelkorn. As well she is survived by five grandsons: Devan, Ian, Alex, Braden and Kegan. She was predeceased by her parents, Herman and Emma Litke and her two brothers. Mom was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She began her journey with Wilfred on May 12, 1962 in Brandon, MB. This life adventure carried the couple to the communities of Melita, Manitou, The Pas, Russell, Miniota, Whitemouth with the final stop of coming back full circle to her birthplace Beausejour, Manitoba. She was employed for 17 years at N.E.H.A. between Whitemouth and Oakbank Personal Care Homes. Mom gave tirelessly to her family, friends and a variety of organizations. The Hospital Auxiliary in Beausejour became her favourite volunteer charity. She loved her church and to sing in the choir - Mom had a wonderful singing voice. Mom was vivacious, fun and loved by all. She was an avid curler and loved going to bonspiels. Mom and Dad became part of the Old Time Dance Community where Mom loved to dance. For over 30 years, summers were spent camping with Clear Lake being the favourite. Let's not forget Mom's endearing love for her dog Sox. Mom: your children and family miss you; your spirited nature will remain forever in our hearts. In 2010 Mom was diagnosed with an incurable disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis. The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Bshouty, Dr. Homik, Dr. S. Kahn, Dr. Szaky and the staff at Beausejour Hospital. As per Vionna's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour.
