WALTER RYBUCK It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Walter on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the age of 77 years. Walter is survived by his loving wife Rachel, son Jeff (Jennifer); daughter Lauren (Alan); and grandchildren Jesse, Christopher and Brendan. HE WAS THE GREATEST GRANDPA EVER! He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Ray (Lorna), John (Liz), Stan (Kathy), Margaret Michalsky, Jennie Sherman, Mildred Smook, Vicki Kruk (Eugene), Fran Domitruk (John), Irene Hamerton (Brian); as well as by a large extended family that meant the world to him. Family was always a top priority and Walter made sure that they knew they were loved and could count on him whenever they needed him. He was predeceased by his parents Stefan and Dora Rybuck; sisters Stefka, Loraine, Sylvia Thacker (Clarence) and Stephy Kohut (Danny) as well as brothers-in-law Peter Michalsky, Steve Sherman, Steve Smook and Danny Kohut. He was born on the farm at Senkiw, MB and moved to Winnipeg at a young age where he worked for Kraft Foods until his retirement. Spending winters in Florida was a special part of his retirement. While there Walter volunteered at Give Kids The World serving meals and driving the miniature train. He will be missed but he will also live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be loved by him. A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Walter's Life will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in Zion Apostolic Church, 305 Machray Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Walter to Give Kids The World at www.gktw.org/help Wojcik's Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.

  • We were shocked and saddened to hear that Walter had passed away. We dealt with Walter in the 80's when we owned the Snak Shak in Selkirk and he was our "favorite" Kraft salesman. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he supported in the Fishing for a Cure program as well as in the many organizations he adopted. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Ernie & Louise - Posted by: Ernie & Louise Blahitka (Friends) on: Sep 08, 2012

  • Dear Rachel and Family, Our deepest sympathies are extended to you at the passing of our cousin Walter. Many memories come to mind from school days at Senkiw, MB, our family relationships at the farm and in the city. Walter, his family and our own Rybuck family had a bond since they were the only families to settle in Senkiw from the Ukraine. Recently I met Walter at the Goldeye game which he loved to watch. May God grant him eternal happiness and peace free from any pain and sorrow. We know that we will be reunited in the love of Jesus. Memories Eternal. Vichnaya Pamyat. - Posted by: Peter Rybuck (cousin) on: Sep 08, 2012
