Born: Jun 18, 1934
Date of Passing: Aug 31, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANET WEISS On August 31, 2012, under the first rays of the blue moon, Janet Ann Marion Weiss (Plummer) passed away peacefully, with the love of her family surrounding her. Our great sadness and loss is tempered by the comfort of knowing she is reunited with her best friend and loving husband Les. They met on a blind date on New Year's Eve, were engaged within three weeks and married in May. It was a marriage that lasted 48 years, and defined Mom's life. She leaves behind her children; Janet Weiss-Townsend, Susan Williams, Norman Weiss and Lee-Ann Cooley, as well as Norm Cooley who was like a second son to her, grandchildren; Todd, Kyle, Marie-Helene, Andrea, Ryan, Samantha, Eric, Cameron, Jay and Kaitlin, and great-grandchildren; Paytin, Lachlan and MacKenzie. She also leaves behind a sister Bess Kehler and a brother Leonard Plummer and their families. Born June 18, 1934, in St. Boniface, Mom was a voracious reader, who enjoyed her weekends at Netley Creek with her Chihuahuas and family. A determined and strong willed woman, her constant direction and guidance will be missed with a smile, by those who knew her well. Mom's wish was for a private family interment for her and Dad. And so... two become one for eternity... We will always love and miss you Mom and Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Winnipeg Humane Society. I loved your Mom & Dad. I loved listening to her stories, no matter how many times she told them. I loved the endless conversations we used to have about authors and books and our love of reading. I loved how courteous she was to me from the first time we met until the last time I saw her. She always had a smile on her face when Norm, Sam, and I would stay with her during our many visits to Winnipeg. When we stayed on Brownell your mom would always cook me a pork roast dinner and your dad would always have a special cake in the fridge for me. They were like the "normal" mom and dad I never had and I'll always remember them fondly. I can picture them together right now and I see them happy and at peace. - Posted by: Debby Kehler (Daughter in-law) on: Sep 08, 2012
