LYDIA DYCK September 18, 1914 - September 5, 2012 Lydia Dyck passed away at Bethania Personal Care Home in Winnipeg on September 5, 2012, at the age of 97. Lydia was predeceased by her husband, Gerhard, in 1999. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Helene and Bernie Neufeld of Landmark, Manitoba, grandchildren Darlene and Reg Plett, Doris and Ed Zamrykut, Karen and David Wiens, and David and Alison Neufeld, and her great-grandchildren Lukas and Zachary Plett, Andrea and Eric Zamrykut, Kate and Elizabeth Wiens, and Joshua, Anika and Jacob Neufeld. Lydia was born in Einlage, Ukraine, on September 18, 1914, to Johann and Katharina Martens, the youngest child in a family of 14. In 1939, she married Gerhard Dyck. The family spent four years in Germany before emigrating to Paraguay in 1947. In 1955, the family settled in North Kildonan, Winnipeg, Canada. The funeral service will be held at Springfield Mennonite Church, 570 Sharron Bay, Winnipeg, MB, on Monday, September 10 at 10:30 a.m. with James Schellenberg officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Misercordia C5 unit and at Bethania Personal Care Home for the excellent care given to our Mom and Oma.
